SCHOOLS

0698sm.jpgThere is a number of schools in the Central and Western Regions of Ghana that we are working with in promoting indigenous knowledge. Our involvement first started at Ampia-Ajumako where school children narrated anansesem (Ananse stories). We have compiled some of these stories into a reading material that some of these schools are using. We are giving back to the children their own text as reading material. We are working with them to realise their own narratives constitute knowledge worth knowing.

We will like to extend this project to the other regions of the country. Our limited funds, however, make it difficult for us to meet the schools' demand for the reading material. Please contact us for more information about this project.

Schools participating in the project include:

Ampia Ajumako JSS
Ajumako Mando SSS
Rev. Cleland Public Basic School
Howard Memorial Public Basic School
Mfantseman Girls SSS, Saltpond
