The Master Amponsah Memorial Health Centre will emphasise maternal and child care services. It will serve Agona Nyakrom, and neighbouring Odoben, Brakwa, Agona Bobikuma, Nkum, and Agona Kwaman townships that currently have no health care facilities. The area, which is largely rural, has a population of over 100,000 people.

Traditional Birthing Assistance Institute

Cefiks is assisting the Master Amponsah Memorial Health Centre in setting up an institute for the training and upgrading of skills of traditional birthing assistants. The foundation stone for the health centre was laid on June 1, 2005 (see pictures above, below, and on the left). The Centre is still under construction and it is hoped that it will start operations in 2006.

The Centre needs donation of medical equipment to enable it to start functioning. Such donations may be sent directly to the Master Amponsah Memorial Health Centre at the address indicated above, to CEFIKS (P. O.
